On 26 September 2019 the Business Day will be held at Wageningen Campus. On this day developments in technology and new innovations will be key. Rick van de Zedde and Benny van der Fels will attend to speak about phenotyping.
Phenotyping: High-tech measurements on plants and animals
Large scale accumulation of data on plant- and animal performance in their natural environments. To understand, model and optimise our food production sytems. In the Wageningen greenhouses, researchers from the Laboratory for Plant Breeding tested the growth and development of two quinoa varieties that were given water with an increasing salt content. One quinoa variety, Pasto, developed a conservation strategy in which the plant limited water uptake and thus growth.Read more
